Export work items for Jira
Export any set of Jira work items — a space, a filter or a JQL query — to Excel or CSV, with any fields you choose, including your own custom fields. The file is assembled in your browser and is never sent anywhere.
What it does
- Any field. Not a fixed set of columns: pick from every field your Jira has, including custom fields, and sort the list by name or type to find them.
- Export from where you already are. Search in Jira, then export the result straight from the search screen — no need to retype the query somewhere else.
- Real Excel files. XLSX, so columns land in columns regardless of the regional settings on the machine that opens it.
- Up to a million rows, with progress shown while it works.
Who may export
Seeing work items in Jira and downloading them to a computer are separate rights, and this app treats them that way. Exporting is controlled by a Jira global permission that a site administrator grants like any other — it appears in Jira settings → System → Global permissions. By default only administrators have it.
Documentation
- Setup and usage — installing, granting the permission, choosing what to export, columns, formats, limits and troubleshooting.
Security and legal
- Security — permissions, access model, what leaves Atlassian, and how to report a vulnerability.
- Privacy Policy — what the app reads, what it stores, and where the exported file goes.
- Data Processing Agreement — for organisations that need a processor agreement under the GDPR.
